NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
St. Anne Catholic School Chapter

To be considered as a member of the St. Anne Catholic School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, students must possess the following qualities:
  • Have a total cumulative scholastic grade average which falls in the A-B range in each subject and demonstrate the equivalent standard of excellence in conduct.
  • All students in 7thgrade and students in the second semester of 6thgrade will be considered. The first step is checking the student’s GPA on the 3rd nine weeks report card.
  • The well-qualified candidate will also show character traits of leadership (as in school clubs or outside activities), stewardship (serving your community) and character (the student is a good role model for others)
Students possessing the desired qualities will be given a letter stating they are a candidate for consideration, and asked to complete a membership form and return to the NJHS advisor. Next, evaluation sheets will be sent to the students’ core subject teachers. When this has been completed, a faculty council will meet to review each candidate’s application. Letters of acceptance will be delivered by the end of the calendar school year.

The purpose of the NJHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage citizenship in students of St. Anne Catholic School. Membership in the NJHS is a privilege and responsibility. It is a mark of distinction on a student’s middle school record that will follow the student into high school.

Mrs. Kim Finnerty is the advisor to the NJHS.
